Upgrade BSZ to TAA04

 

TAA04 training package replaces the old BSZ98 Training Package for Assessment and Workplace Training and has been implemented progressively under transition arrangements.

 

Registered Training Organisations offer this upgrade course however you need to provide your old BSZ qualification to be considered for Recognition of Prior Learning

 

How does TAA04 compare to TAA04

 

The TAA04 is very different from the previous qualifications and provides for the skills development of a wider range of VET professionals such as workplace or RTO based assessors; teachers/trainers; educationalists; support personnel; and middle level technical managers.

 

Like its predecessor, TAA04 has one Certificate IV qualification and one Diploma qualification. These are

TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and TAA50104 Diploma in Training and Assessment. The award of Certificate IV in TAA04 requires 14 units of competency in total with 12 of these as core units, and the award for the Diploma requires 12 units, with 5 of these as core units. (In BSZ98, 8 units were required for the Certificate IV and 13 were required for the Diploma.)

 

While a few units of competency in TAA04 are similar to units in BSZ98, others provide for very different skill sets

that were identified during the rigorous consultation process.

The new Training Package provides the discrete skill sets required by trainers and assessors and has the capacity to progressively improve VET professionalism.

TAADEL401A.

There is partial equivalence between BSZ404A Train small

groups and TAADEL403A but application would need to be

demonstrated to an individual learning relationship applying

the relevant techniques for individual facilitation that are

specified in TAADEL403A. Individuals holding BSZ404A

would need to show evidence of one-to-one approach to

gain equivalence.

TAADEL404B Facilitate work-based learning

 

There is partial equivalence between both BSZ404A and

BSZ407A with TAADEL404A. It would be possible for an

individual holding BSZ404A and/or BSZ407A to

demonstrate evidence of having applied those units in a

work context. In that case the units would be equivalent.

 

TAADEL405B Coordinate and facilitate distance-based

learning

BSZ407A Deliver training sessions is equivalent to

TAADEL405A.

TAAASS401B Plan and organise assessment

BSZ401A Plan assessment is equivalent to TAAASS401A.

TAAASS402B Assess competence

 

BSZ402A Conduct assessment is equivalent to each of

TAAASS402A and TAAASS301A.

TAAASS403B Develop assessment tools

BSZ506A and BSZ507A are each equivalent to

TAAASS403A. BSZ401A has partial equivalence. Application of Element 3 would need to be demonstrated against all the specifications of TAAASS403A.

TAAASS404B Participate in assessment validation

BSZ403A has partial equivalence with TAAASS404A.

TAATAS401B Maintain information requirements of

training and/or assessment organisations

There is no single BSZ unit that addresses TAATAS401A.

When held together BSZ402A, BSZ405A and BSZ408A
